Brief
Adding to their impressive portfolio, VISO was asked by AvroKO to design-engineer and manufacture custom lighting for this Michelin-starred restaurant in the Flatiron District in New York. Oiji Mi is owned by excutive chef Brian Kim and needed a unique lighting package that would showcase exquisite craftsmanship and textures inspired by Korean culture.
Client Need
Custom work for this package included lighting that required filigreed artistic craftsmanship, unique materials, and technical skill which VISO is perfectly matched to successfully deliver on. As well, this project needed the right partner to understand the design intent thoroughly to be able to translate this into tangible light fixtures.
Challenges
Some challenges arose when dealing with resin. Though resin is a durable material, it can be equally delicate. Extreme care and expertise was essential in order to complete this project. Furthermore, find detailing is found throughout the lighting package, ensuring the design intent was met.
