At Boutique Design New York (BDNY), VISO was selected by Dream Hotels and Nivek Remas to bring to life The Splash Pad — a playful, luxurious and custom model installation inspired by the spirit of summer and the magnetic energy of Dream Hotels. Through this collaboration, VISO redefined creative expression transforming imagination into form through the balance of artistry and engineering.
Design Intent :
Dream Hotels and Nivek Remas sought to create a bold and interactive environment — one that would instantly transport guests into the brand’s world of vibrant escapism and contemporary indulgence. The design concept centered around the joy and nostalgia of a poolside moment — interpreted through light, texture, color, and sculptural form.
VISO was entrusted to reinterpret everyday leisure icons through craftsmanship and technology, transforming inflatable floaties, rippling water, and reflections into a refined, art-driven lighting experience.
Challenges :
What began as illuminated inflated floaties evolved into custom resin sculptures, designed to visually emulate inflated forms through curvature, translucency and reflection.
VISO’s lighting engineers fine-tuned the LED temperature and brightness of white to achieve consistency and purity of tone in the resin ensuring the installation glowed with a soft, white radiance.
To meet fire code requirements, the rippled metal ceiling was cut in a wave pattern and suspended in sheets vertically, creating a sense of fluid movement overhead — an architectural echo of water in motion.
To highlight water movemement and depth a custom pale blue metal was developed to complement the Dream Hotels palette.
The illuminated ladder, 3D printed with integrated lighting, was designed with special attention to heat management and diffusion, eliminating hot spots and ensuring a smooth, consistent glow from within.
The Result :
The Splash Pad became a highlight of BDNY, drawing continuous attention for its originality, craftsmanship, and emotive storytelling. It demonstrated how VISO’s bespoke capabilities can translate playful brand concepts into architectural lighting experiences that engage, delight, and inspire.
The installation celebrated Dream Hotels’ signature blend of luxury and irreverence, while reinforcing VISO’s position as a pioneer in custom lighting innovation — where art, design, and engineering converge.
