Brief

Crafted by the visionary minds at Studio Paolo Ferrari, Daphne is a testament to the power of design in creating unforgettable experiences. From the moment guests step through the doors, they are enveloped in a world of
enchantment and wonder. The foyer sets the stage with a transparent full-height wine cabinet, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the delights that await within.

Client Need

The creative vision behind the design was to craft ethereal light fixtures that seemed to float effortlessly throughout the restaurant, drawing inspiration from the natural world, particularly organic produce and forms. Each
meticulously designed fixture served as a canvas for the VISO teams to construct intricate, multi-dimensional installations evoking organic shapes. These bespoke creations were meticulously crafted from carefully selected materials and fabrics, adorned with hand-drawn imagery, resulting in truly unique and artisanal pieces.

Challenge

Each light was constructed of hand-blown glass, or in resin to emulate a clay and ceramic look.
Manufacturing products in ceramic was challenging without fasteners or structure. For example the single lily flower pendant was detailed with ribbing and constructed in 5 pieces.

Solution

The detail and liaison between the production team, VISO and designer was crucial to the success of this project.
The VISO team made over 100 hand-blown petals to ensure alignment and proportion. This particular bespoke pendant was one of the most detailed projects VISO has undertaken in the bending and shaping of glass.
The lily pendant mold was then used for the outdoor lighting development at Daphne
The hand-drawn pattern on the lamp shade required a design process between VISO, the production team and designer to ensure the print and the construction were aligned
