VISO x Pininfarina Collaborate to Celebrate the launch of Miami Galleria

Miami, FL - December 2, 2024 — Pininfarina, the world-renowned Italian multidisciplinary design firm, has teamed up with VISO Inc., a pioneer in architectural lighting and bespoke manufacturing, to present an immersive collection of sculptural light fixtures and seating that transcends functionality to become works of art. Meticulously designed by Pininfarina and engineered & manufactured by VISO, these lighting sculptures transform childhood wonder into tangible, illuminated forms, redefining the intersection of design, technology, and storytelling.

Unveiling at the VISO Galleria in Miami on December 3, during Miami Art Week 2024, the lighting sculptures will take center stage in an immersive installation titled “A Childhood Dream”. Guests are invited to step into a world of limitless imagination that offers an unforgettable sensory experience.

The collaboration took root in conversations between Pininfarina's Chief Architect Officer, Samuele Sordi, and the team at VISO, where they envisioned a shared future of groundbreaking design. Drawing inspiration from Pininfarina’s architectural projects, Sordi recognized a natural synergy between Pininfarina’s design ethos and VISO’s innovative practices. These discussions sparked the idea of a partnership that would transcend traditional boundaries, seamlessly merging architecture, art, and design into a visionary collection.

Suspended in mid-air, the sculptures combine advanced materials, construction complexity and integrated DMX lighting control to create a floating, magical effect. Crafted from polished stainless steel, the four sculptural pieces of various sizes are illuminated from within to produce an ethereal glow. The installation is further enhanced by a mesmerizing soundscape and visuals by French filmmaker Gwenael Lewis, amplifying the sculptures’ impact through reflectivity. The pieces represent the illusion of clouds in the sky, portraying a whimsical child-like dream. With the integration of both the physical and digital aspects of the production, the installation lends itself to the creativity of the audience looking at the clouds. To complement the installation’s theme, Pininfarina also devised seating with rock-inspired shapes, offering visitors a comfortable and immersive viewing experience.
