2021 Iconic Awards Winner – JW Marriott Muskoka

Toronto-based contemporary lighting design and manufacturing brand, VISO Inc., has won the ICONIC AWARDS 2021for the JW Marriott Muskoka project.

The JW Marriott – The Rosseau Muskoka, is one of Canada’s most luxurious resorts in the Muskokas. During its renovation project, VISO was brought in by design firm mackaywong to provide decorative lighting for the common areas. The inspiration behind the renovation was to showcase the lavishness of the JW Marriott brand while reflecting Muskoka’s vast natural beauty and unique guest experience. The Custom Firefly Chandelier consists of 172 fireflies buzzing around their Nest in a magical display of nature found indoors. Configured in a custom chandelier, the central “Nest” fixture is made up of 15 stainless steel rings, each with a hydrographic wood finish, creating a fully immersive hotel experience from the moment guests enter the front doors for check-in, to the moment they are relaxing by the pool or fireplace in the lobby lounge.
