Logistics Manager

The Logistics Manager is responsible for all international logistics, trade execution an regulatory compliance. If you are hungry to succeed no matter what challenges come your way, then we are actively looking for you. You bring contagious enthusiasm, knowledge and professionalism to the team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Logistics negotiations and cost-effective transport coordination to ensure timely delivery of product to clients and receipt of parts to support efficient operations while maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Optimize inventory levels including receiving and tracking receipt of materials against purchase orders
  • In conjunction with the General Manager, oversee warehouse and production facilities to ensure they are designed to support efficient operations and workflow and meet quality, safety and 5S cleanliness standards
  • Department profitability

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all international shipments to minimize costs
  • Highly skilled at utilizing optimal transportation modes and routes
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations
  • Negotiate with freight companies for best price and service
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Arrange timely pick up from different suppliers (domestic and international), prepare shipment loads for freight and same day deliveries.
  • Communicate with Customs Brokers to ensure the clearance of shipments
  • Monitor Customs Tariff Codes to adjust product database to the accurate tariff
  • Prepare accurate bills of lading
  • Communicate with Chamber of Commerce to prepare Certificates of Origin
  • Provide accurate freight cost to sales team for future orders
  • Create, update, and maintain NAFTA Certificate records accurate
  • Close shipped orders in ERP system for accurate maintenance of data
  • File documents when orders are shipped
  • Streamline and optimizes shipping and transportation processes
  • Review and approve freight invoices to ensure accuracy
  • Assist in the physical packing and shipping when necessary
  • Source new supplier relationships and negotiate terms and discounts; manage vendor contracts
  • Source and negotiate shipping supplier terms and arrange for shipping; enter all shipping costs in the EPICOR system
  • Identify facilities improvement that contribute to improved productivity and safety
  • Implement quality check procedures prior to shipping, in conjunction with the GM
  • Develop timely reports of shipping and inventory using relevant data from the Epicor system; identify gaps or concern areas to management
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications (education, experience, other requirements; work conditions/travel, etc.):

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting or Supply Chain Management
  • 5 years’ experience in similar operational role in product manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Experience in electrical lighting or equipment production industry beneficial
  • Knowledge of international tariffs, duties and currencies; knowledgeable about effective transportation of product to meet customer timelines at optimal cost
  • Experience with at least one ERP system (preferably Epicor), preferably working with Finance and Supply Chain modules to deliver quality reporting and analysis
  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Passion for troubleshooting any issues that may arise in international freight transportation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • MS Office proficiency and advanced Excel Skills

  • Supply Chain & Purchasing – knowledge of best practice purchasing and supply chain procedures
  • Financial & Business Acumen – understanding of P&L, Cost Accounting, Financial Controls and Accounting practices and the purchasing and supply chain impact profitability
  • Manufacturing Process – knowledge of production procedures and work flow, materials management in a manufacturing environment
  • Leadership – Possesses necessary skills to coach, develop, train and optimize productivity and commitment of team members
  • Planning – Has the ability to plan for future business requirements and needs and present requirements to ensure capacity to deliver and prevent last minute issues
  • Interpersonal Communication Skills – able to clearly present ideas, concepts, information and training to staff, leadership and peers in a collaborative and respectful fashion
  • Analysis – skilled at providing insightful and relevant analysis of data to present useful reporting that effectively guides decision making and flags gaps or issues
  • Workplace Efficiency & Safety – knowledgeable on safe workplace practices and ensures adherence in the production process; understands WHMIS legislation, worker/management responsibilities; Health & Safety Committee responsibilities, security, emergency response and workplace injury

Business Analyst

That’s where you come in

As our new Business Analyst, you’ll be responsible for a range of financial duties: things like reporting, data management, costing and analysis.

A big part of this role involves working with our new ERP software, EPICOR. Here you’ll manage end to end business processes, and identify, define, and analyze business requirements. You’ll also support our software transition by being a resource for EPICOR, and contribute to change and product management.

Succeeding in this role means always looking forward to new opportunities, whether that involves improving our systems for efficiency, finding new applications, or furthering our business goals.

Business analysis is an integral role in our company, and you’ll learn all about our core operations as you gain experience with us. If you can deliver on and exceed the expectations of this role, there will be plenty of chances to grow into more senior positions and responsibilities.

Working @ Viso

This will be a full-time, permanent position with hours from 9-5, Monday to Friday. We offer a competitive compensation package, which includes a salary between $70,000 and $85,000 per year, commensurate with your experience. You’ll also get full medical and dental after a trial period, as well as free parking, and potential for bonuses.

Qualifications

Industrial Designer

Overview

Technical/drawing skills, capabilities with Keyshot, understanding of international electrical requirements – decorative and technical lighting.

Job description

The position is a rare opportunity to join and build the core industrial design team at VISO. You will have an opportunity to work with renowned international Interior Designers & Architects to satisfy lighting requirements for their projects. Additionally, you will work with various production teams and partners to achieve products are according to VISO’s design and quality expectations and exceed customers’ expectations. Customers love lighting we design and produce for their projects because our products are “Made With Love”. Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience.

Skills

  • Superb rendering capabilities with Keyshot

Product Technician

Overview

Assemble parts, set up assembly line with materials and supplies.

Specific Skills

Assemble parts, set up assembly line with materials and supplies required for production. Check products for defects and faulty electrical and mechanical connections. Operate automatic or other testing equipment to ensure product quality. Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies. Perform other duties as assigned by the team lead.

  • Attention to detail

  • Great at following instructions and a quick learner.
  • Some experience and comfort in operating hand tools (Drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.)
  • Some soldering experience
  • Good math skills (basic math as well as geometry; used in marking canopies, etc..)

  • Assist with various tasks in the department assigned
  • Previous industrial/manufacturing plant experience is required

Inside Sales

Building and maintaining relationships with customers and with the team to build better customer and team experience.

Summary: 

The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for building and maintaining amazing relationships with customers and with the team in order to build better customer and team experience. You love providing solutions in an efficient and timely manner and must work closely with the design and manufacturing team to ensure that all projects are on track. You are hungry to develop relationships and make money to ultimately be the best at what you do.

We are actively looking for you who will bring contagious enthusiasm to new and existing clients and to the team in our Head Office in Downtown Toronto!

Primary tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage customer inquiries and marketing leads including quotations and lead times.
  • Utilize construction/design data and drawings to contact potential end users and customers about job specifics.
  • Proactively process, expedite, and follow-up on quote requests in an accurate, timely, and professional manner. Provide information to customers regarding product availabilities, shipment, delivery.
  • Join meetings and prepare a weekly sales report with a weekly action plan on decreasing accounts and steps taken to close the gap as well as the status of new accounts.
  • Effectively sell and upsell the customer by utilizing various tools available.
  • Meet and exceed provided sales quota.

Supervision Received:

  •  Works under the general direction and guidance of the Sales Supervisor.

Level and Type of Education Required:

  • College/University Degree or Trade/Industrial Design/Technical Institute or equivalent work experience.

Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Insides Sales experience.

Necessary Specialized Training, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) mandatory.
  • Electrical/technical know how a must.
  • Knowledge of lighting (a huge asset).
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years’ experience in Inside Sales preferably in luxury, electrical, lighting products.
  • Experience guiding customers with product selection and project bids.
  • Proven Customer service and Sales skills.
  • Knowledge of Epicor or ERP an asset.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or AutoCad a huge asset.
